Conscious Himalayan Treks

Trekking as a form of inquiry

Small groups, slow walks, walking questions each morning. Our treks use the Himalayas as a vehicle for something harder to name than adventure.

The Experience

Trekking as a form of inquiry

There is a version of Himalayan trekking that is about conquest: summits bagged, kilometres logged, photos taken. That is not us. Our conscious treks use the physical act of walking through mountains as a vehicle for something slower and harder to name.

Across the days you spend at Oakakhi, the rhythm of walking, sleeping in nature, eating simply, and sitting with walking questions creates a particular quality of mind that is difficult to reach any other way. People come back from these treks changed in ways they struggle to articulate, and that is exactly right.

"We do not climb mountains to conquer them. We walk through them to be changed by them."

Turiya Trails Philosophy

Every Trek Includes

Stay at Oakakhi, the Kalika Forest Walk, a birdwatching session, a village morning, and an astro night. These are not add-ons, they are the shared foundation underneath all three routes below. What changes is the destination trek itself.

Our Trek Routes

Three difficulties, one route between them

🏔
Pandavkholi · Beginner

3.5 km. Dwarahat, Kumaun. An ancient meditation site linked to the Pandavas' exile in the Mahabharata, ending at a quiet ashram and meadow. The gentlest of the three.

🌋
Pinnath · Intermediate

5 km. Kausani, Kumaun. A forest trek to the Pinnath temple near 2,750 metres below Gopalkot Peak, with views over the Kosi valley. Longer and steeper than Pandavkholi.

🏠
Bharatkot · Challenging

Almora, Kumaun. A higher, more remote extension of the same Dunagiri ridge as Pandavkholi and Pinnath. The steepest and least visited route we offer.
